I was on the opposite end of Kennedy Peak. EF loop goes to Signal Knob and Meneka Peak. It's a nice hike/ride (had to push the bike for about 3 miles, it was really rocky at the top). Going again this weekend.
I'll probably try Kennedy peak later on the season, although it's a little far from Reston...

The exhibits and tours have only been open for a few years, now. They're definitely worth checking out.

I'll have to try this one again. When Mark and I hiked it, years ago, I don't remember an exhibit or it being open for tours. Great pictures, by the way!

Love the blog you two! And after reading about this hike and seeing the photos - especially of the water - you can be sure I'll check this one out when I find myself in the SNP!

This place sounds fantastic, and unlike the current retreat, you won't be harassed by the Secret Service for hiking too close! :) I wish I had made it there and will put in on my "someday" list!

Were you biking the trails near Kennedy Peak? There are some tough singletrack trails out there. It really was a beautiful morning to be out and about in the Shenandoah Valley.

That's a great hike! It would definitely make my top five list for Shenandoah. I bet the water was flowing beautifully along the trail.
