Special Information for McAfee Knob, Dragons Tooth, and Tinker Cliffs

In 2017, the Roanoke Appalachian Trail Club (RATC) released a report concerning use of the Appalachian Trail across the popular scenic destinations of Dragons Tooth, McAfee Knob, and Tinker Cliffs.  In recent years, this stretch of trail has become overused and abused. The area is seeing roughly 90,000 hikers a year and not everyone is taking care of the trail. RATC needs hikers to do their part to help preserve and maintain these beautiful natural treasures!
